An Opportunity, Not an Obligation

Two men hold a large marlin fish aloft, celebrating their fishing achievement against a scenic backdrop.

Is the purpose of life really chronic busyness, obsessive money-making, or status chasing?

Consider this: What percentage of happiness would you assign to the most significant areas of your life right now?

Too often, people live life backward. They focus on acquiring more—more things, more money—in the hopes that these will bring them happiness. But doesn’t it work the other way around? We must first be who we truly are, then do what aligns with that, in order to have what we truly want. Are you living by the principle of "have…do…be"? Or "be…do…have"?

Are you pursuing what genuinely makes you happy and fulfilled?

When it comes down to it, there are very few "musts" in life. You must be born, and you must die. Everything in between is up to you.

What makes you come alive?

Remember, life is an opportunity, not an obligation.
